Welcome to The Bolivian Circus!

A hearty welcome to all!

I always think of beef soup when I hear the word “hearty”.  A thick beef soup with some big chunks of beef that are almost as rubbery as starburst. Alas, I digress…

As most of you know, I am Bolivian.  I was born there, raised there, and then journeyed over to Canada and have been here for the past 7 years.  Now I am a strange mix of a mountie-on-a-llama, slurpee drinking, classical guitar loving person.  One of the biggest effects that this mixed life has had on me is seeing a disconnect between the global rich and the global poor in the world, especially in my own life.  I am far to disconnected from the world I grew up in, and I need to change.  My friends and I have started to experiment with what it would look like to see more love around the world.

We got together and started dreaming of what we could do to love people and be passionate about Jesus.  Turns out they are the same thing.  So we are experimenting with ideas, learning from our many mistakes, and then learning some more.  We really have no idea what we are doing, but we are willing to find out.

I think that when we connect people and nurture loving relationships between cultures we will be able to help each other through our own poverty.

This blog starts with a trip to Bolivia but does not end there.  We hope that this is the beginning of a bigger story of people connecting and learning to be friends.  So if you are interested, keep posted and we will share stories, pictures, ideas, and funny things we find along the way.

The Fringe Network is just a fancy name that we had to get to be an organization, but we think it sounds cool.  We are on our way to becoming a Canadian charitable organization and I will write more about that stuff later.
